New Bootie Pattern (Well sort of....)

Hi all, this is a bootie pattern I created and have been using, it's basically another version of Bev's Very Easy Booties or created based on them. It makes the booties (with my crocheting anyway) just a little more solid looking. Will upload picture soon as I get one as all mine have gone out to charity or for baby gifts.

Cute and Easy Booties
Pattern based on Bev's Very Easy Booties

1/2oz Baby yarn
H hook (newborn or 0-3mo size)
G hook (large Preemie size)

Chain 26 (28 for 0-3mo size)

Row 1: Hdc in 2nd stitch from hook and each stitch across. Chain 1, turn.
Rows 2-5: Hdc in each stitch across. Chain 1, turn. At end of row 5 turn but do not chain 1.
Row 6: Slip Stitch in first 5 stitches, Chain 2 (counts as Dc), Dc in next stitch and each stitch across to last 4 stitches. Leave last 4 stitches unworked. Chain 2, turn.

Row 7-9: Dc in each Dc across, Chain 2, turn. At end of Row 9 turn but do not chain 2.

Fold Bootie in half. Using crochet hook, slip stitch in the INSIDE loops of both sides of ankle, toe and remaining free loops on bottom of foot. Finish off. Be sure to weave in your short end. Now turn booties inside out and fold down first two rows.

Optional:

Change Colors for cuff at row 6 AFTER slip stitching in first 5 stitches. Note: leave a few inches of each color for slip stitching bootie shut.

Boys:
If you want a longer crew style cuff for boys, you may continue with Dc for rows 10-13. Finish off after Row 13.

Girls:
If you want an edging for girls Chain 3 after row 9 or 13, sc in next dc, repeat to end.

You may chain 60 for a tie if you like, weave in and out of Row 6 but I don't usually unless they're pretty big at the ankle.

Enjoy!!

Marla
